Kidfic is kind of a new thing for me. I was never that interested in it before, found it kind of excessively cutesy and things, and then I turned 25 and it felt like overnight I became a person who is CRAZY ABOUT KIDS. Like "if I go to the pub and somebody has a baby I will suddenly forget about my beer" and "I daydream about my interstate friend coming here just so I can take his kids to the zoo." If I have an ideal kidfic it's probably sing a lullabye where Sidney Crosby is the best babysitter in hockey, but a lot of that it just projection because I love playing with my friends' kids but it's hard to see how I'll ever acquire any of my own.

ANYWAY.

I'm very grateful for the Lochte/Phelps fic. Most of the way through it had me trying to stifle laughter so that I wouldn't have to explain what was so funny to the people in the lunch room, but the moment when Ryan walks into the pool in his suit is breathtaking.

The Jeff Skinner/Eric Staal one, I'd had that stuck on my Kindle for ages and not gotten around to reading it, so after you posted it I finally did. I'm curious want kind of internet arguments you had about it, because while I liked the bits with Joey, the miscommunication between Jeff and Eric was so frustrating it actually made me angry, like HULK SMASH levels of angry, which is weird, to say the least. I'm not sure exactly who I felt angry with, but there you go. But then, one should probably also wonder what I'm doing in hockey fandom if I hate stories abotu couples communicating badly.

I'm psyched to read this Gaara/Rock Lee fic, though. SO EXCITED. I watched a fair bit of Naruto at one point, but I dont' think I really got into it until I saw Rock Lee, and then I went "Yes, that is the ninja of my heart." I ALWAYS BELIEVED IN YOU, ROCK LEE!
