See, I like the vid a lot, but my thinking was that it wouldn't be very accessible to someone who has never seen a vid or any anime; seems like a lot of it depends on understanding what AMV makers can do - what a technical feat it is - and who the characters are.

But then, I didn't let myself rec "I Wish I Was a Lesbian" because I thought you'd need to know the characters to get the joke, and it's proved to be the most rec'd vid in the comments, so I may not be the best judge of what works for media fans.

Ah, see, about that: granted, it blew my socks off AFTER I'd been heavy into AMV's for awhile, but another vid that heavily relies on OMGWTF TECHNICAL GENIUS is "Tainted Donuts" - which I myself didn't rec because it wasn't pan fandom - even though it's what GOT me into AMV/fanvids in the first place, me never having seen an AMV or fanvid, or either Fandom involved. I'm glad to see other people have rec'd it in comments, though.

I suppose the other reason not to rec it is that to fully appreciate Elv1s vs An1me you should be familiar with the original Music Video - but since you've got "Right Now Someone is Reading This Title" up there without ever having seen Van Halen's. (A concept that bewilders and frightens me, BTW - a LOT of the jokes are based around the original vid, as you know by now.)
