That's why I used to send much less fb in the mailing list days. Crafting an email worth sending is much harder than posting an "I liked this! I really thought you nailed X's voice!" comment on LJ.

I've given up giving really thoughtful, detailed fb in favor of letting people know I've read and liked their story, because I can do a lot more of the latter than the former.
