Every year I start Yuletide bright and early. I have three-quarters of my story done in the first week, ready to post...any time now. Soon. Real soon. As soon as I finish that last scene. But definitely before the gold star deadline. For sure. Oh, wait, that deadline was yesterday, wasn't it? Oh, well, I'll finish it this weekend. Really. But what's the hurry, there's still a month before the real deadline. Or a week, at least....

Consistently I manage to get my story in three days before the real deadline. Which isn't bad, but... The funny thing is that I then often manage to write another story or two in the remaining three days as pinch hits!
