oh, I SO hope that you (and by extension, I) get R. M. Meluch fic. I've loved her novels, which are *totally* "original slash in military drag", since I stumbled across them back in the 90s. if you haven't already, I encourage you to track down her older (out-of-print) paperbacks. most of them are cracky, angsty, slashy and often contain actual relationships of some sort, not merely UST, and you can totally see the genesis of the Merrimack series

of course, the notion of something based on the Motherlover video has completely intrigued me as well
