In one episode of TNG, Deanna Troi goes to her chrome bureau and takes out a washcloth WHICH IS MADE OF GOLD LAME! (Oh, wow. That's a totally different word without the diacritic. LOL) I imagine water just rolls right off it rather than being absorbed in any way.
