Well, as for the baby in the NICU, she was only there for a very short time (long enough for me to grow up) and she's the now-stroppy, terribly short-sighted almost 18 year old, so we've mostly done okay. Except for the part where she's really not ready to be an adult (which is kind of ironic, given the subject of this post) and is insisting she's going to move out the second she turns 18.
She's said that her plan is to not come home from school the day she turns 18. (This assumes that it's a school day [I just checked and it is; it's a Wednesday.], and that school will be in session. And that she'll still be dating the same boy then as now.)
Anyway, all in all, we've survived the NICU thing pretty well.
I live in perpetual worry about her adulthood, though.
