Oh yes. I mean, obviously I got slightly ruder guys, but when I started in comics, I was young enough that being ignored seemed like safety, which is why it didn't bother me that the comic book store guys ignored me and talked solely to my boyfriend. It only crossed my threshold of "wait, unacceptable" when the boyfriend wasn't there anymore, and I ceased to exist entirely.

And, actually, I LOVE hardware stores. Filled with things! That a person with manual dexterity could make into OTHER things! Also, if I actually need something, I get cheerful help from whoever I can track down.

But comic book stores that approach the Earthling as the only shopper worth paying attention to? Short-sighted to the extreme.

Yes! Because he DOESN'T HAVE ANY MONEY. I have the money! You would think that would make the the target of sales interest.
