I find myself deeply intrigued by the history of the barista au. (This may be a function of my coffee obsession.) I think I first read it in...I want to say popslash? {Possibly lotrips but most likely popslash.) I don't remember it predating that fandom. (Unlike, say, undercover as lovers which is still a totally addictive au genre for me, but has also been around since I was lying about my age on the interenet. Of course, now I lie about my age in RL instead. It's full circle!) Anyway, before this gets to long, I would be deeply interested in the knowing what was the first barista au.
