I honestly thought you were exaggerating. And then I watched it. And like... If anything you were underplaying it.
I mean it's like how I thought people were exaggerating how deeply, deeply gay Due South was for years and years because clearly nothing could actually be as gay as fandom made it out to be and then I watched it and discovered it was actually more gay and in fact the only thing that could have made it any gayer at all would've been the on-screen addition of kissing and sex.
This was like that only... awful and bizarre, instead of gay. I think my brains leaked out of my ears at some point. Nadir of sense and reason, yes. And I am sort of charmed, somehow. I, I think I might have some kind of head trauma or something. But basically they seem like gigantic dorks who know this is ridiculous and are going to do it anyway which -- yes. I don't even. *ridiculously charmed*
(And, you know what, I will say this for their singing: they were basically all just flat and terrible, instead of hitting the hideous subharmonics of being a half or a quarter tone off. I have a sensitive ear, so. That's actually a kindness.)
