Re Eats, Shoots & Leaves: I've been sceptical of reading it for fear of pedantry, to be honest. I mean, I'm a big believer in the correct use of apostrophes, don't get me wrong! But... there's something unlikeable about a book that's just an extended rant. A mien of smugness, of intellectual superiority. Like those "10 rules every fanfiction writer should know" lists, which always get my back up.
But perhaps I'm being unduly prejudiced. I should give it a try; should have it hammered into me about my incorrect use of semi-colons *g*.
