Right? Better yet, the first time I was 33 and single. (Best I can work out I must have picked it up some years earlier and not been worn down enough to get symptomatic until then. Apparently most kids get the virus in their system at some point but it doesn't affect us until puberty, which is why it seems to take off in high school and college.) I thought it was like chicken pox that way - once you have it, it's with you forever but doesn't make you sick again. WRONG.
