I mean, really, are Punk and Sabine telling the truth here? Do junk novels like this actually exist?
The sad truth of the matter is yes, yes they do. And I think that people even *pay* them for it, which is, clearly, completely and utterly wrong. Strangely enough, it seems that this kind of junk novel is particularly prevalent in the kind of historical western romance involving Indians, especially called 'Hawke' (because of course Indians would name themselves with an English word, as they have done for thousands of years...). For a while I thought it was just the one bad novel with a wildly optimistic print run, but sadly it's the same mistake repeating. And so I find myself identifying with this story, at least in a very small way.
Because if they do, well, I don't see how anyone can give us shit about reading quality smut online. I don't either, unless maybe they found a Mary-Sue who was adopted by unicorns and so left the world of fanfic, forever scarred by the experience.
