Oh, RPS isn't the last fandom boundary by any means. Besides, there are totally boundaries within RPS. You really want to hear my manifesto about how actorslash is kind of creepy and LotRPS mostly produces crappy fic but popslash is a different breed entirely. Don't you? It has characters and backstories and canon and everything. Really! And this leads to actual plots and a hell of a lot fewer "atmospheric vignettes" than RPS in general. (Unless you're reading LotRPS AUs which are basically gay coming-of-age stories with actors' names inserted somewhat haphazardly.)
