You managed to articulate a feeling that's been bouncing around in the back of my mind for a while, but has never made it into actual words. This is exactly what the difference between F/K and Ray/Ray is...Ray K. is a completely different character in each.

This also explains why F/K/V threesome fics don't work very well.
