It so totally does not make you weird. I cannot watch sex, either. I cringe inside, and I'm not even sure why, but it just hits my embarrassment squick. I even had to leave the room when Sheppard kissed Chaya, you know?

I think it's - there's actually this totally fantastic SG1 story by [livejournal.com profile] paian that plays on this, that weird cringing thing some of us do. She has Sam in the horrible position of forced involuntary voyeurism, and it - it's amazing. I've never seen less sexy explicit sex written anywhere; the whole thing is filtered through Sam's perceptions, and so instead of reading the sex, I'm cringing with her as she's watching the sex. It's incredible and brilliant and a total masterwork of meta inside a story.

And it's a great story, too. And it doesn't *quite* trigger my squick - more like, triggers it at one remove, via Sam, so I can just about stand to read it.

But my point here was, no, it does not make you weird. And even if it did, I'm weird alongside you. (Do you think this is why we can't stand RPS, either? Does it hit the squick? Hmmm.)
