It is true that Oz is not known for its happy endings. I am a bittersweet ending person myself, I like it sad as long as it's hopeful in some small way. Oz isn't really known for that either though. Definitely the most emotionally brutal show I have seen/fic I have read. Oddly, pretty much the nicest fandom peoples ever though.

Well, the RPS thing comes with an exception, which is as follows: if the people in question lived before ~1950, RPF about them doesn't squick me.

I was not aware of this, but it is good to know. I am not really into RPS... yet with historical people I am not bothered by it. Like if they've been dead for a while, they're fair game. Not sure why, but they are.

And Lawrence - Jesus. He's definitely got that larger-than-life tragic hero feel

Yes, yes he does. Have you seen A Dangerous Man? Really, really slashy and awesome (well, in a history/Lawrence buff kind of way). Also, Ralph Fiennes.

but she enjoys it! I've seen her! This is wrong. I believe this strongly.

I admit that I have the sickness too. I was sad when I had to return it to the library. I might have to check it out again. I read my personal finance for dummies book in the bath tub. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??
