The happy thing about said mug is that it has a filter and the brewed tea drains out of the bottom, leaving all of the leaves behind. I was using a gold filter before that, and it worked well. The flavor was just so much better when the tea is not constrained by anything.
Teasource does make a blend called silk road that is pretty much just black tea and ginger. It's quite tasty. They have another called Black Velvet that is another favorite, and if she likes the strong flavors, it might be just the thing. It's the black tea, peppermint, anise and licorice. It works very well together and actually produces an amazingly smooth tea.
