Of course, I also remember back when I first joined lj and though it was entirely ridiculous that people would pay to get extra icons, and that I'd never want to bother with a paid account, free accounts were perfectly fine on their own and I had no need for more than 3 icons. But now thank god for loyalty userpics, that's all I can say.
