Yes Canon powershots. They take movies that are high-quality enough that we don't use our digital videocam anymore, and the resolution is great. They are easy to use, but if you want to do fancier things you can a little, too. I am a camera bozo and I can still use one easily - and they are small enough to fit in my smallish purse. Buy whatever the highest-res one is and get a big memory card and an extra battery and you will probably never need anything else. The older models don't take low-light photos as well, but the new ones seem to do much better.
