It's probably one of those unfortunate family things, though, isn't it?

Heh. Yeah, but not in any tragic way. Just, my parents - really my dad, for obvious reasons, but the prezzies come from both of them, so - have acquired this habit of giving us things for Christmas via promissory-note-type card and then not following up with the actual gift. The idea is that we'll buy it ourselves and bill them., but this tends to be embarrassing, as both of us have had to borrow money from them at various times. Summer of 2005, I finally pushed the issue with my sister's digital camera - which, now that I think about it, my parents had given her the previous summer, for her birthday - and did the groundwork necessary to get her one. I also got her the DVD player my parents had given her for Christmas, plus one for them. (And yes, I billed them :-).)

That would be deeply awesome

NP. It shouldn't take much time at all.

Do you think we should follow up with the world-leader folks with, say, "Canadian Bingo"?

In conclusion: ♥.
