I'm reading through, thinking this probably wasn't the time to attempt a new fandom, and suddenly sentient cars = coolest thing ever.

I know! I blame David. He made this whole robot alien car thing appealing enough that I would totally Netflix the movie, except that I fear greatly that nothing there would be even a tenth as awesome as the story. This is the down side of excellent fan fiction: it can ruin you for the canon.
