After watching:

I love Freestyler! The beat! There really is an inner beat monster inside me and it does wave its paws! I think I know all the three ways of hitting the beat, and wow, that vid really makes me enjoy it. And all the arrows and shiny! Wow.

I also enjoyed Pon de Replay. So doing it is one of my favourite themes, too. Then I watched Rodeohead, and this is funny -- with Freestyler I didn't even remember what the fandom was before I saw the guy that I recognise from Smallville (never seen the actual show), and I also don't know Entourage, but I do know Firefly and it seemed to interfere with my enjoyment of the vid. I kept thinking which episodes the scenes were from and trying to make sense of the story, not just letting the visuals wash over me like with Pon de Replay and Freestyler. Knowing the canon made me think why specific scenes were chosen and it felt like I should watch it several times, too -- I was watching it intellectually, I suppose. For all I know (since I've only seen it once so far) it's not an intellectual vid at all and the clips are chosen because they're funny and look cool, but me knowing the canon made me try to make sense of the vid in context of the canon nevertheless.

Circles: Omg the instruments! The violin and the guy with the long coat! He is that violin -- his face, even his shoulders! Wow. Your notes really help: I don't think I could have watched an instrumental vid without them. Now I feel I got something out of the vid.

In Exchange for Your Tomorrows still leaves me confused, but damn, it looks good. I mostly understand the way you do, or actually, what you said about it being about Hogwarts made more sense to me than any other interpretation (not that I had my hands full of interpretations while watching it -- I can still be very dumb when it comes to vids).

Thanks for the recs! And the meta. I would read those other posts and baby posts too, you know. *looks expectant*
