Earthling post!

I still haven't figured out exactly how to transfer the earthling filter over here. So, in the meantime: there's a new earthling post here!

(And, just in case anyone is new here: the earthling filter is for posts about my kid. It is opt-in and open to all. Just let me know you want to be on it, or take the poll here.)

what exactly is your problem with the filter? reading filters don't work yet, posting filters do, since last week or so even for cross-posts.

for cross-posting to a filter, the filters must have exactly the same name both here on DW and over on LJ. if you post to a DW filter that does not exist in/for your LJ, the post will be automatically set to the highest security level = private. but you can then manually edit it on LJ to a filter of your liking. alas, if you then make changes to your original entry on DW, i am not sure what the cross-poster will make of that.

it is not necessary (not possible, i think) that both filters here and there contain the same amount of people or such, the name of the filter is the important thing.

That post made me jealous, actually - I wish that I had that sort of naturally driven need for closeness. You seem to be having some part of the experience of motherhood that I am just missing somehow. *all green and stuff*

The weird part is, you know I don't have that drive to be close with people. I don't. (Although, oddly, I did during pregnancy. But it went away for other people and stayed for the earthling.) But the earthling is different. So for me, motherhood has been this very strange experience of wanting, even needing, to be close someone most of the time.

I think in your case, though, you were fucked over by hormones and depression - this is hard enough, but with that, I just don't know how you could have experience the first year as anything but head-down survival.

I've been lurking for a couple of months and I wanted to read all your old Earthling posts since I only met him through this journal recently. I've read the imported posts up to when you created a DW journal, but I can't access the posts that are linked from here to your LJ because I'm not on that filter, only the DW one... I stayed up til silly o'clock last night reading about your adorable little family and would love it if you could provide me with my fix! No rush though, I'm out of town for two weeks as of tomorrow.
Please extend my cannibalistic threat to the earthling for me eat him all up.
