[Poll] Check One

Internets! I am still compiling the Woobie Poll of Dooooooooom, but in the meantime, here is a PRESSING QUESTION that came up today while I was (yay!) visiting with [personal profile] norah. Plus some other pressing questions, because why have one forced choice when you can have five?

So. For the rest of your life, you can only have one of each of the following pairs. Which will it be? Which is the ONLY ONE YOU CAN HAVE FOREVER? (If you already live without one or more of these, then obviously your choice is easier. Like, I will have no trouble at all with question three, but question one might kill me.)

I am also taking suggestions for future horrible forced choices. I would like to find the hardest forced choice in all the land. (That isn't, you know, of great weight or import. No Sophie's Choices.)

Poll #2389 Choose Wisely

Onions versus garlic is a terrible choice to make. Also, I am surprised at the number of people willing to give up coffee for chocolate. I suppose at least you'd still have tea.

I didn't choose onions for the same reason that I didn't choose coffee: there are acceptable substituted for onions (shallots, scapes, or even ramps) the same way there are other acceptable carriers of caffeine.

I am so glad I read comments before I made my choice. Otherwise I think I would've spent twenty minutes just staring at question one, not daring to touch my mouse in case I tripped and clicked on the wrong one...

I am so in love with all my forms of caffeine I find it difficult to give up any of them (though chocolate does still have some caffeine, so it was a choice there). I agree completely about onions, but I love them enough that it was still a difficult choice.

ahahaha, ramps. they're like garlic and onions all in one! I totally agree with your logic.

In my world, onions and garlic are best together.

If you ever run into a person who has trouble digesting alliums, then a useful substitution is asafoetida/hing.

In my world, onions and garlic are best together.

And in the best of all possible worlds!

*shrugs* I never liked coffee, so there's nothing to give up there :)

I used to hate coffee, so it would've been an easy choice eight years ago. Oh, acquired addictions tastes.

Yeah, I was going to say that: for the tea drinkers here, this was the EASIEST choice. ;)

I am also a tea drinker, and between tea and coffee I'd probably go for tea, but oh my God my caffeine. I'd hate to give up most any form, and I would miss cappucino like burning.

Even though I knew I had to choose garlic, it HURT to make that choice.
Yes, this. Why do you write questions that hurt us? *grin*

Not if you give up caffeine, too! :-P Some herbal teas are nice, but I'd never make it without my English and Irish Breakfast teas.

Caffeine vs. alcohol wasn't even a difficult choice for me, just because my love for caffeine is legendary, whereas the most fun I have with alcohol is mixing other people drinks. I've had to give up caffeine in the past for brief periods of time, but I always come back to it.

Decaf tea! If decaffeinated tea and coffee didn't exist, my answer on the caffeine vs. alcohol would totally have gone the other way.

I don't like coffee to begin with, so that was an easy choice. XD

I don't like coffee so the choice was beyond easy. I also have a several bad reactions to caffeine and so currently avoid it (although I would be sad to give up the iced tea at my favorite restaurant).

I dithered over the onions v. garlic question for a solid two minutes, though.
