[Poll] Check One

Internets! I am still compiling the Woobie Poll of Dooooooooom, but in the meantime, here is a PRESSING QUESTION that came up today while I was (yay!) visiting with [personal profile] norah. Plus some other pressing questions, because why have one forced choice when you can have five?

So. For the rest of your life, you can only have one of each of the following pairs. Which will it be? Which is the ONLY ONE YOU CAN HAVE FOREVER? (If you already live without one or more of these, then obviously your choice is easier. Like, I will have no trouble at all with question three, but question one might kill me.)

I am also taking suggestions for future horrible forced choices. I would like to find the hardest forced choice in all the land. (That isn't, you know, of great weight or import. No Sophie's Choices.)

Poll #2389 Choose Wisely

I'd like to point out that you die without fat, but not without sugar, so really how is that a choice?

But it is not just the vitamins. The body needs the essential fatty acids that we can't produce, just like you need essential amino acids, and afaik those only come in the form of fat. It's like in all the wilderness fiction where the people starve because they can only eat rabbits or something. (though admittedly I probably shouldn't glean my nutrition ideas from fiction)

And I don't eat meat, so even the technicality of fatty meats not being standalone "fat" is no much help for me. Maybe it could work if full fat milk doesn't count as fat, and guess you might get enough from eating seeds and stuff the oils come from directly, like munching sunflower seeds and nuts and olives or something... still, how would you taste anything nice without adding fat? Also frying stuff is right out. :::shudders::: So even if not using fat directly was survivable, I'd much rather go without sugar. I rarely use it for anything but baking, which you couldn't do either way.
