Hey there - I've just relized that I've voted in the poll while logged in under the wrong account. Since there is only one poll option I cannot un-vote! This account I am posting from now does not need to be added to your filter.

I apologise for being an idiot; I'll go log back in and vote with the fannish journal I've been following the Earthling's adventures so far with.

No need for apologies! You have successfully identified the reason why I gave up on having two accounts: it's hard to keep them straight, which translates to too hard for someone like me. But I support those who manage, and can completely understand how you could ticky from the wrong box, so to speak.

I've never been on the filter before, but about now, I could use something not especially fandom related and funner.

I'm sorry things are being hard for you fannishly. *hugs* The earthling works as a source of joy for me; maybe he'll do that for you, too.

Do you want me to add you on LJ, too? You'll be able to see back earthling posts that way. (I didn't crosspost, because it was too weep-inducing to figure out how to do that before I set up this filter here. Keep it simple if you don't want to end up crying, that is my motto.)

(On behalf of the sibling-thing, who also follows, the filter will also be active on LJ still, right? Because while the woman has a DW, I think she doesn't comprehend that there are things to follow here. Then again, Earthling's one of the few non-fannish things she pays attention to on LJ.)

I would never take the earthling away from you, and I would never, ever deprive another parent of the joy of hearing about Someone Else's Two Year Old. That joy is the dividend you get for having had to deal with your OWN two year old(s). (A different kind of dividend, of course, is the gut-clenching empathy I felt while talking to a woman at the earthling's preschool - who had pregnancy insomnia and whose son is a bad sleeper and always has been, no matter what they do, and thus she has not had a decent night's sleep in two and a half years. I looked at her red-rimmed eyes and heard her choked up Not Going to Cry on the Playground voice and I hurt for her in a way I couldn't have before the earthling, because I couldn't have understood what those long interrupted nights do to you when they don't. Ever. Stop. And I was extremely grateful to the earthling, who lets me sleep. Only parents understand the real horror of a child's sleep problems, I tell you what.)

Hello! You don't know me, but I, erm, lurk in your journal and have done since the Gabaldon debacle. I loved what you wrote about that and then I started reading other stuff you'd written about other things and well, here I am.

But beyond the fannish and pop-cultureish stuff, I love reading about the Earthling and your wife. In fact, the 'wife' essay was the one I read most recently, I don't remember if I commented there or not. So yes, I'd like to read more about them, if you please.

The main problem would be picking out which picture to put on it. The kid is amazingly photogenic.
