Poll: Tell Me What You Read and I Will Tell You Who You Are
I'd like to know more about y'all, and I'd like to play with my new paid user status. I blended these two yens, and voila! An excessively long, dull poll. I'll be delighted if you complete it, but don't feel, you know, obligated or anything. Next entry, I'll return to my usual fan fiction fangirlishness.

wait, no, I thought of something: M*A*S*H recs would be awesome, but I think that maybe there are three M*A*S*H stories in the whole of the cosmos that are worth reccing. and I've already read those.
further-- in case I come across as flippant, which, yes-- I really do appreciate the work you put into these recs. It's an invaluable service and you perform it very well. Thank you kindly.

But, um, don't hold your breath on the M*A*S*H stories, 'cause I barely know what M*A*S*H is or was (something to do with Vietnam?), and I can only remember seeing, like, two in my entire browsing career.

Basically you get a bunch of wacky characters, throw them into a field hospital in the middle of a war, and make a surprisingly bitter-sweet show about their lives. One minute you're laughing yourself silly at cross-dressing soldiers or something, and the next you're crying because war is hell. It's also about the bonds that form between men under those conditions, and the friendship between Hawkeye and Trapper, for instance, is both deeply platonic AND immensely slashable. They get drunk together, they slow-dance, they... well, you just have to watch it. It repeats endlessly on TV, you shouldn't have any trouble doing so without actually paying money for it.
