That is an excellent thing. It is good to be a reader of FF when you don't know the canon. And, hey, you're in good company (assuming you consider me good company, which is frankly debatable, what with the whole fannish obsession thing I've got going); I don't know the canon for most of my TV show fandoms, either. So I am thrilled that I've dragged you into non-canon FF reading.
