Real Life: News

So, hi, y'all. I'm pregnant. (Twelve weeks, due at the beginning of June, we don't know the sex yet. Judging from the ultrasound, I would say it is an alien implanted in my uterus by devious means. However, unless we make some major, speedy advances in space travel, it will probably be born on this planet, so I choose to think of it as a future earthling. Crazy optimism, I know.) This could occasion some posting on real-life topics from me, which I know is not what most of you are here for. So, I will be creating a filter. It's opt-in; you don't have to say anything if you don't want on.

Posts to the filter could be frequent. They could be short. They could be unfunny. They could be extremely boring. They could be non-existent. They could be excessively personal or contain mention of bodily fluids. I have no way to tell, because this is new territory for me.

So, keeping that in mind, do you want on the filter? A handy poll is provided for your clicking convenience!

*cries*

I'm a 38H right now. If my boobs get any bigger, I don't think Bravado will have a bra that can fit me, which is sad, because they look like awesome and useful bras. (And they come in actual patterns and colors besides beige and black! I spend much of my life looking for pretty bras that might fit me.)

And I would love a link to your birth story, although for later reading. (I know I'm going to be super-anxious about labor and delivery, so I'm storing up things to read that will at least give me some sense of what's going to happen, but I'm trying not to think about it very much yet, if that makes sense.)

*huggles you*

Oh, dear. And I thought I was ready to cry when mine went straight on to E for EEEK! when my milk came in. *huggles some more* *is sad I can't be more helpful*

I completely understand your wanting to not really think about labor until you absolutely have to. After the childbirth class where they went over labor and delivery (and how the hospital dealt with stuff going wrong), my Mr. asked me, "So, still want to do this, right?" and six-month-pregnant-waddly-me was all, "NOT MUCH CHOICE OVER HERE!" I have been told by child-free commenters that my birth story (http://perspi.livejournal.com/46113.html) makes childbirth sound not scary and downright reasonable. So, it's a good birth story just to have on hand. And believe me, when you get there, you're so ready to have your body back that you're like, "let's go!"

*friends you so you can read it at your leisure*

Hi, I lurk and don't have an LJ, sorry.

Congratulations! And I have good news on the bra issue. I'm usually a 36H, but preganant/nursing I am a 38/36 K (I have a 5 yr old and twins due next month). Motherwear.com has nursing bras in cup sizes up to K (only a few styles, but one comes in pink) and band sizes starting at 34. They ain't cheap but they last--I'm still wearing some from my last pregnancy. And if you are planning to nurse, you can just keep wearing the same bras. (Also if you are planning to nurse, I must plug the best nursing book ever, So That's What They're For, by Janet Tamaro, isbn 1-59337-285-X).

Mazal Tov and best of luck to you and BB.
