She had the Earthling this morning at about 2 a.m. He is 5.5 pounds of healthy baby, and thefourthvine and Best Beloved are well and recovering.

I, for one, welcome our new overlord.

Congratulations! I normally just read the recs here and don't comment, but I figure -- babies are amazing, and worth a comment (even if I'm only reiterating the same thing that everyone else is). Babies are sooooo amazing! (Welcome, tiny person!) May your child sleep through the nights better than I did as a baby. (My poor parents spent the first handful of years without sleeping through the night due to me, and I am terrified that my future children will be the same.)

Pictures of our future dictator would be a treat, but if there isn't time -- that's understandable, given that life undoubtedly is quite busy at the time.
