Poll: Tell Me about You
Hey, it's Yuletide Eve! And I know most of you are probably doing - I don't know, family things, or festive things, or possibly trying to put together something with nine million plastic parts - but I am here. Waiting. Very impatiently. And if you're here, too, you could take my poll. Clicking entertainment for you! Distraction for me! Everyone wins!

Re: Taking a rest break from Christmas preparations...
I go through periods where I will revisit favorite fic from prior fandoms and/or explore fic by favorite writers, or recced fic, from other fandoms.
Oh, yes. Most definitely. I didn't even put The Sentinel on here, but I'm currently rereading all my favorites from that fandom. (There's just something very comforting about Jim and Blair. You'll probably have to take my word for it.) And I will take a chance on almost anything if it's highly recommended - I mean, I recently started reading Naruto stories, even though I have to keep checking Wikipedia to find out who the characters are and what the heck is going on. Clearly, if there is great FF, I will read it. My limits are few.
Also, omg I forgot to list Master & Commander as one I revisit, a fandom where there are so few fic (but such marvelous ones!) I probably have some of them memorized, lol.
Oh, Master and Commander. I had almost forgotten about it. Such awesome stories! Not nearly enough of them! Aubrey/Maturin forever!
Re: Taking a rest break from Christmas preparations...
Yeah. I've tried a few Sentinel fic recently as a matter of fact, though as with many of these fandoms I've never seen the source material except in passing. Okay, I have to admit, I haven't ventured into Naruto or anything in that genre, but never say never, right? Hee, Wikipedia's a great idea -- I never thought of that!
Aubrey and Maturin just...are such a OTP omg. I've actually read all the books a couple of times, and they themselves are about as slashy as non-slash can be. I always hope that someone will write new Jack/Stephen fic, but I never see any, sigh. I might have to try someday, but omg the language and style and everything is so, so difficult to get right!
p.s. I also am enjoying the Earthling stories. Brings back memories.:) The key is to train them early that you *are* reading while they nurse, lol. Not all babies agree with this proposition, especially once they reach more than a couple of months old! They seem to think they have the right to opinions of their own.*g*
