Yuletide Fandom

So, this was in actual fact supposed to be a private post for future (Yuletide!) reference - yes, I really am the person who makes private posts with Yuletide fandom suggestions throughout the year, and it has always served me in good stead - but since I made it public I think I should leave it public. Bottom line:

Watch this commercial, which features basketball players growing up and then fucking each other. You think I'm kidding? You tell me what comes after the last shot. I seriously can't think of anything that doesn't involve cock no matter how hard I try.

(And then prepare to write it for Yuuuuuuuletide!)

I've occasionally made public posts, but don't know why I would make them private.

LOL! I just feel like if I'm going to talk about something I want to nominate for Yuletide, it would be more fun to do so where other people can squee with me.

You know, I hear what you're saying, and it makes sense. My mind is just kind of blown, that's all. Like, you can - talk to people about this stuff? Before your Dear Author post? I KIND OF FORGOT.

In my case, they're mostly private because the posts say things like: Bandits Movie: OT3. As it gets closer to Yuletide, I'm more likely to actually, y'know, talk about them.

And I don't even remember SEEING that video before. Although I do see where I was going with the concept.

But now I'm thinking maybe I should get started with my Why You Should Write This Fandom posts. Let people acclimate!

I was about to say you could post about the short ones, which might inspire fic even before Yuletide.

But then I thought -- what about the longer ones? The ones people might need some time to read/watch/wallow in before they'd be comfortable offering it at all? And then I see that posting fandoms this early might be the BEST POSSIBLE OPTION.

Maybe I could get more than one person to offer The Quantum Thief if I gave them more lead time to read it...
